Diwali Across Miles: Kaboo Cards Connect India to USA
As the days grow shorter and the air grows crisp, it can only mean one thing - Diwali, the celebrated "Festival of Lights," is upon us! This vibrant Hindu holiday marks the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. Diwali, also known as ‘Deepavali’ (a row of lamps), is one of the most fervently celebrated festivals of India. It is celebrated by lighting lamps, and bursting crackers and fireworks. This festival commemorates the victorious return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after saving his wife Sita from the demon king Ravana.
Diwali this year falls on November 1,2024. As I reminisce how I have celebrated this bright occasion over the years, I couldn’t help noticing how tough it was to connect with my loved ones abroad. I would send a WhatsApp text in the group wishing to my cousins and aunts/uncles where it almost felt like a checkmark to get it done. I felt a disconnect from the human touch to personalize my wishes to loved ones from afar.
